Marathon
The 26.2 course for the Sioux Falls Marathon is a USATF- certified course. It is designed to be relatively flat and fast and will showcase many of Sioux Falls natural and man-made landmarks.
The course will have clearly marked mile markers at each mile. Clocks will be at designated points on the course to show split times. There will be water and aid stations every 2.25-2.5 miles until mile 20 where they will be located every mile. There will be medical attendants at all water stops along the course as well as EMTs monitoring the entire course. Click on Map below to enlarge.
The Marathon course will remain open for 6 hours from the starting time of 6:45am (CST). If you think you will be out on the course after 1:00pm please make sure to carry appropriate hydration and supplements.
Half-MarathonThe 13.1-mile course for the Sioux Falls Half Marathon is USATF-certified. It is flat, fast and designed to showcase many of Sioux Falls natural and man-made landmarks.
Both courses will have clearly marked miles. Volunteers will give split times at miles 1 and 2 in both races, and at the 5K (3.1 miles), 10K (6.2 miles) and 10-mile points of the half-marathon.
There will be water and aid stations every 1.5-2.3 miles until mile 7.1 where they will be located every mile along the half-marathon course. The half marathon course will remain open until 12:45.
The Miracle 5K Run/Walk will start and finish on Oxbow Avenue. Course route is under development. Details posted soon.
The Half-Marathon begins at Howard Wood Field. Runners pass Covell Lake and St. Joseph's Cathedral, through Downtown Sioux Falls and into the Warehouse Historic District. At approximately the 4-mile mark, the runners enter the beautifully sites, as well as the city's namesake, the Big Sioux River. At Falls Park, runners connect with the city's wide, smooth, paved bike trail that is part of the Greenway. Tracing the shaded banks of the Big Sioux River, the trail bends around the city and takes the runners to the finish at Sertoma Park.
